Be Inspired! What to Wear // San Diego Boudoir Photography

Thursday, January 26th, 2012

In preparation for my March/ April Boudoir Marathon, I thought I’d prepare a little inspiration board to get you excited! More info coming soon — CLICK HERE to be added to the wait list. Space is limited and spots will fill up fast!

Maybe you are getting married this summer and you want to surprise your hubby with a one-of-a-kind gift that he will literally drool over…ever so popular these days! Or maybe you have been married for a few years and you want to give hubby an amazing anniversary gift that will blow his mind! Or, best one of all, you want to do this for YOURSELF! What ever the reason, there’s no doubt this can be a very empowering experience.

Think about your personality & style, your fashion choices, your art choices, what your partner likes, and even colors you usually gravitate too. Maybe you are drawn to bright, soft, airy photos. Maybe contrast and color catches your eye. There’s a lot of emotion and personality that goes into a boudoir session, AND fun! The purpose of this inspiration board is to get you thinking about what you like, what you don’t like, and hopefully landing you in a place where you can express yourself in all your glory, in a beautiful, elegant, sexy, and fun way! Click Here to see my last Be Inspired post. Click Here to see my most recent boudoir sessions. Also, be sure to check out my complete what to wear inspiration board on Pinterst.

What to Wear Guide 2011 {San Diego Family Portrait Photographer}

Thursday, August 25th, 2011

It’s the most common question I get asked…”What should I wear?” Well, I’ve finally decided to create my very own what to wear guide! And what at better time than now, with the Holiday Portrait season just around the corner! What you wear is THE most important aspect of the shoot. Runner up is Hair & Makeup and then location. When thinking about your attire, remember that these photos will be adorning your walls for years to come, so do you really want to see your self (or your husband) in a plain shirt with a Nike logo or your 8 year old in her favorite matching hot pink Juicy Couture sweats?! Think about the location of your session and the personality of your family when deciding on your photo shoot attire. Are you a hip, funky, colorful family? Maybe you are a more reserved, neutral, classic family. Either way, I can’t stress enough the importance of COLOR! Take the time to choose your clothing carefully, and trust me, it will pay off in the end with the resulting images showcasing your cohesive, creative, and coordinated family! The 3 ‘C’s!

Cohesive – pair “like” styles together. Don’t put one kid in a fancy, frilly dress and the other kid in jeans and a t-shirt. Do look at ads from your favorite clothing stores to get ideas! Sometimes the cover of the ad will have a very nicely put together family! How much easier can it get!?

Creative – don’t be boring! Don’t be afraid to mix and match patterns. Color is a GOOD thing!

Coordinated – this DOES NOT mean matching!!! Choose coordinating outfits and colors as apposed to matching shirts & pants.

Here are a couple different styles that I put together to give you some ideas! All fashions are from Old Navy.
