My good friend Miss Z, was in need of some lifestyle portraits to show off her families boisterous personality. So I dragged them to a field (one of my favorite things to do!), made them drudge through stickers and lots of weeds, some of which were taller than the girls, and the result was a fun, relaxed session highlighting their personalities and love for one another!

The lovely Miss E. is was so excited to do this shoot as a gift to her long time beau, who happens to be overseas. So the plan was set in place and finally after months of planning she was able to ship off her beautiful boudoir book to him! I’m so glad to hear he loved it (duh, why wouldn’t he?!!)!

STYLED Vintage Inspired Spring Mini Sessions // Lifestyle Portrait Photographer

~~Next month, just in time for Easter, I will be holding a One Day Only Spring Mini Session Marathon – March 24, 2012.~~

What does “styled” mean?

This session will be totally, amazingly, beautifully styled with vintage accessories and props. (Just wait till you see it! A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.!!) I will also help you plan your kids attire in order to complete the “look” and make this session absolutely FABULOUS! Normally, this type of styled lifestyle portrait session would run upwards of $800+!!!

When do I need to book?

ASAP! Spots will fill up fast, and when the spots are full, that’s it!

How many spots are available?

10 spots

First spot available is 11am. The last spot is 4:30.

How much does it cost?

$90 + tax. You will have the option to add on Easter Cards, and I have special Mini-Packages Set up just for this event. There is a $100 MOR (minimum order requirement).

When do I get to see my images?

I will hold the View & Order Sessions at my studio on March 27 & 28. You must choose a time on one of these days to come in. You will view your images and order your cards and prints at this time.

One day only – April 2, 2012.

I have more than 2 kids, what do I do?

Unfortunately 15 minutes is not enough time to capture more than 2 kiddos, so in this case you will need to purchase 2 time slots.

PLEASE NOTE: this is a MINI session intended for children age 6 months to 9 years. Children ONLY please. Sorry, no exceptions.

*Prices and terms are non-negotiable. We are required by law to add 8.75% CA state sales tax. Due to the nature of custom portraiture, all sales are final.

A’s Tween Room Makeover, Part 1; Ideas & Brainstorming

Ayz has grown up. A. LOT. in the last 2 years. She is still very young at heart and pretty “young” for her age, however, her style has changed pretty drastically in the last 2 years. Pretty much with the transition to middle school, came a new found desire to be hip, and fashionable. Now, its important. Although she still holds onto those stuffed animals and movies that are WAY too young for her, its time that she get’s a room makeover. All the continuous hints haven’t gone unheard, although she thinks so. I’ve been keeping track of her favorite colors, which have changed by the way. Something that worries me a lot when it comes to a drastic makeover in a pre-teen age girls room. Things are changing daily. But I’ve kept track, the best I can, all of the things she “LOVES, OMG!!”. And equally important, the things that are “icky, eww, gross, etc”. She definitely has a unique personality and a quarky style, along with still holding onto quite a bit of innocence. With all of that in mind, and with the help of Pinterest (which, by the way, I would be totally lost with out) I was able to save all of my tween bedroom ideas in one place. More on Pinterest later, but now, here’s what I’ve been putting together via my virtual bulletin board…

This is a tough one. She’s set on her bed and dresser, which are white, sort if in a shabby chic style. She has a little wood desk, which is darling and in good condition. I’m contemplating painting it. Maybe. But ALL of her art work has to go. She went through a duck phase, and needless to say, she’s outgrown them. So I’ve searched Pinterst for ideas and have found tons.

With this new year has come a revamp of my session fees. In order to better accommodate my clients with a clear explanation of the different sessions I offer, I have given my fees a mini makeover! These rates are effective starting February 18, 2012 and do not effect clients that have already booked a session.

Studio Session

A fine art style studio maternity session, or convenient newborn studio session includes the availability to many different set-ups and access to Melisa’s large selection of props.

Maternity – $225 – Mon-Fri, $275 – Sat

Newborn – $275 – Mon-Fri, $325 – Sat

Lifestyle Session

On location session for maternity, newborn, family, baby, children, engagement, high school seniors, and boudoir. Photos will be taken at a local North County location or in your home. Add $100 for travel beyond 20 miles of 92069.

$325 – Mon-Fri, $375 – Sat

Details

Your session fee includes the photographer’s time and talent for 1-2 hours (newborns 3+ hours) of custom-styled photography with up to five people ($25 charge for each additional person), 5 Facebook images, and a blog post to share with your friends and family. The session fee also includes the editing of each image for presentation at your View & Order Session where we will display between 30-60 images, each personally and creatively edited to Melisa’s style. The session fee does not include any images, either prints or digital negatives; these must be purchased separately. There is a MOR (minimum order requirement) of $350 for all sessions, or a total of $650 if you book the bundled sessions. Newborns must be 10 days or younger to qualify for a newborn session. Session fees are due at time of booking payable by check or conveniently booked online payable by credit card. Return clients take $25 off your session fee! (May not be combined with any other offer & not valid on packages)
